Panel on Multi-Sensor and Data Fusion
The application of environment sensor systems in modern – also called “intelligent” – vehicles is regarded as a promising instrument for increasing road traffic safety and driving comfort. Based on well-known technologies such as radar, lidar, or video, these cars are able to detect obstacles on the road, anticipate emerging dangerous driving situations and take actions for collision avoidance. A board of highly respected panel talkers will highlight important research in this area and discuss promising schemes for further enhancement of current approaches.

Panel on Driver Distraction
Driver distraction might occurs when drivers divert their attention away from the driving task to focus on another activity instead. These distractions can be from electronic distractions, such as navigation systems, cell as well as hands-freee phones, or more conventional distractions such as interacting with passengers and eating. In the panel a board of experts will focus on the first mentioned reasons for distraction. Questions such as how to measure distraction and how to reduce it will be discussed.
